How is iVMI different from StockVUE?
StockVUE is an enterprise inventory management solution using SmartScales. It was developed before iVMI and was exclusively meant for use WITH SmartScales. Customers typically placed POs for purchase and installation of SmartScales at inventory Points of Use. iVMI is designed for small to medium scale businesses who want to manage some items manually as before and some items using smart scales. It is an online SaaS and HaaS solution that customers can buy in small quantities and scale up as needed.
Do I need smart scales to use iVMI?
Not necessarily. You can start with manual entries using the iVMI dashboard. Smart scales are optional—but highly recommended for full automation and real-time inventory visibility.
Can iVMI support VMI?
Yes. iVMI is designed with VMI in mind. Vendors can monitor customer stock remotely, send alerts, and manage replenishment schedules without frequent site visits.
What type of inventory can iVMI track?
iVMI can manage: • Small parts and fasteners • Bulk items, liquids, and powders • Sheets, rolls, and spools • Tools, kits, and instruments
Will I get alerts if an item is running low?
Yes. You can set custom thresholds and receive alerts via email or notifications when stock is low, critical, or ready for replenishment.
Do I need IT support to use iVMI?
No technical setup is needed. iVMI is a plug-and-play cloud solution. If needed, we offer support for integrations with ERP or procurement systems.
How do I access my inventory data?
Log into your secure iVMI dashboard from any browser-enabled device to monitor inventory levels, usage history, trends, and alerts—anytime, anywhere.
Can I invite team members or customers to my iVMI portal?
Yes. You can add users with different access levels—so team members or clients can view or manage inventory based on their role.
How do I get started with iVMI?
You can start small—no need for a large upfront investment. Contact us for a free demo or pilot setup. We'll help you get the right configuration for your needs.
How accurate are the scale?
While the sensors we use have a +/- 0.02% of full scale accuracy, compensated for temperature from -10C to 40C, under most cases you can be confident you'll get 1 piece per 1000 piece accuracy.
What scale capacities are available?
We have scales that can measure items that weigh a few ounces to items that weigh tens of pounds. Our digital scales range in capacity from 100 grams to 50 tons!
What size digital scales are available?
We have five standard sizes: mini (4" x 6"), small (7" x 9"), medium (9" x 13"), large (15" x 20"), and pallet (44" x 36") at the present time. We can develop custom sizes as needed but costs are lowest for these standard size bins.
Are the routers wireless? Do they need power?
Yes. The routers are wireless and use the 802.15.4 industrial strength wireless protocol. You need to supply power to the routers but it can also be daisy chained from router to router.
What if we can't use wireless routers? What other options are available?
Instead of routers, we can provide a complete solution with USB hubs. Up to 15 sales can be connected to one USB hub that is connected to a Node+.
What is the Node+ IOT gateway?
The Node+ units are tiny computers that communicate with all wireless routers at a site and upload data via Ethernet or WiFi to the iVMI Cloud. If you are using a USB hub, you will need one Node+ per USB hub to enable the data upload to the cloud.
How many routers and Node+ units do I need?
The SC-1200Z wireless routers can handle up to 12 scales per router. Each router provides power and communicates with the scale. If you need 120 scales, you need at least ten routers. But you only need one Node + per site typically. For very large sites, you could use multiple Node + devices depending on your needs.
Do we have to buy bins and shelves from you?
No. You can reuse your existing storage solutions and place our digital scales wherever you need them.
What is the warranty period?
We warranty the products for up to 1 year for defects in workmanship. If scales are damaged during use due to rough handling or overloading then that is not covered by warranty.
How much does it cost?
Total cost depends on number of items tracked, number of digital scales and their sizes you need and how many sites you have. Contact us for a detailed quote at sales@loadstarsensors.com
Can we create an order list?
Yes. You can create re-order list, generate POs, create and maintain vendor contact information on iVMI. This enables you to manage your stock levels easily and seamlessly.
How does the software licensing work?
The software includes the iVMI Edge (also called Client) software that is running on the Node/Node + devices, as well as the Web Application (Your access portal per site).
